GreenRing (including GreenRing, Inc. and its affiliates) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of its users – buyers, customers, sellers, influencers and visitors browsing the Platform (“Users”). This policy explains our privacy practices for the Platform and services provided by GreenRing. By accessing and/or using the Platform and its related sites, applications, services, and goods, and/or registering for a GreenRing account, you consent to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy, including to our collection, use, disclosure, processing, and retention of your personal information.

What Information Do We Collect?

When you register on the Platform we ask you to provide certain personal information, including a valid email address, username and/or social media profile name. We may collect additional information, such as physical address and additional authentication information, to provide you with the services you request (such as payment or withdrawal of funds or sending physical goods), or to ensure the Platform integrity (for example, prevention of fraud).

In addition, we collect information while you access, browse, view, or otherwise use the Platform. In other words, when you access the Platform we are aware of your usage of the Platform, and may gather, collect, and record the information relating to such usage, including geo-location information, IP address, device and connection information, browser information and web-log information. We may also collect supplemental information obtained from third parties such as demographic and navigation data.

Additionally, in order to improve your online experience at GreenRing, we have implemented impression reporting. While you use the Platform, we may gather information such as Global Unique Identifier, http request data, user agent, IP Address, host, URL, the country or continent from which the request was made, browser information, device identifier, operating system, and operating system version.

How Do We Collect Information?

You directly provide us with most of the information we collect. You do this by filling out the registration details on the Platform, and by posting and sharing additional information voluntarily.

We also collect technical information indirectly and automatically through our systems. This information may include logging your Internet Protocol (IP) address, software configuration, operating system and use of cookies (cookies are small files sent from us to your computer and sometimes back). You can find further information about Cookies in this policy below, under “Cookies and Local Storage.”

How Do We Use the Information Collected?

We use personal information only as appropriate to provide you with our services and for security purposes. For example, we may use the information collected from you to verify your identity. We may also use this information to establish and set up your account, verify or re-issue a password, log your activity, and contact you from time to time. The information helps us improve our services to you, customize your browsing experience, and inform you about additional products, services or promotions from GreenRing that may be of interest to you. In addition, this information helps us track any fraudulent activities and other inappropriate activities and monitor Platform integrity.

We will ask for your consent before using personal information for a purpose other than those set out in this privacy policy. We collect technical information to provide better services and enhanced user experience to all of our Users.

Sharing Personal Information with Third Parties

We may combine your personal information with information we collect automatically or obtain from other companies and use it to improve and personalize our services, content and advertising. If you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from us, you can opt-out through the link attached to each communication or by sending us an email.

We use third parties to host the Platform, operate the Platform features, and perform administrative, analytics, payment processing, and communications services. We may disclose your personal information to these companies so they can carry out these services. These companies are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential. We may use third-party analytics service providers and ad-serving platforms, which may set and access their own cookies, web beacons, or similar data collection tools. These parties may have access to information about your Platform usage, IP address, device ID, and geolocation information.

Cookies and Local Storage

When you visit the Platform, we may use industry-wide technologies such as “cookies” (or similar technologies), which store certain information on your computer and which will allow us, among other things, to enable automatic sign-in to the Platform, make your browsing more convenient and effortless, and allow us to test user experience and offer you personalized browsing or promotions. Cookies (which may be html files, Flash files or other technology) are text files that help store user preferences and activity. The Platform uses cookies to collect statistical data about its use, to tailor the Platform’s functionality to suit personal preferences, and to assist with various aspects of Platform operation. These files contain a variety of information such as information about webpages visited by you, the length of time you visited certain sites, data about how you came to visit particular sites, the scope and nature of those sites, areas viewed by you, and additional information.

Blocking Cookies

You may set your browser to block all cookies, including cookies associated with our services, or to indicate when a cookie is being set by us. Information on deleting or controlling cookies is also available at www.aboutcookies.org (note that this website is not provided by GreenRing, and we therefore cannot ensure its accuracy, completeness, or availability). It is important to remember that many of our services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled. For example, cookies may, in certain cases, save you from the need to enter usernames and passwords, and allow session continuity.

Use of Pixel Tags/Clear GIFs/Web Beacons

A pixel tag, also known as a clear GIF or web beacon, is an invisible tag placed on certain pages of our Platform but not on your computer. When you access these pages, pixel tags generate a generic notice of that visit. They usually work in conjunction with cookies, registering when a particular computer visits a particular page. If you turn off cookies, the pixel tag will simply detect an anonymous website visit.

Securing Your Information

We take appropriate security measures designed to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage, and processing practices, and introducing security measures, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to GreenRing employees, service providers, and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Of course, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. IN NO EVENT WILL GreenRing OR ITS AFFILIATES , OR THEIR MANAGERS, MEMBERS, OR EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE IN ANY MANNER WHATSOEVER FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR ACCESS, USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM, OR IN CONNECTION WITH ANY FAILURE OF PERFORMANCE, ERROR, OMISSION, INTERRUPTION, DEFECT, DELAY IN OPERATION OR TRANSMISSION, COMPUTER VIRUS OR LINE OR SYSTEM FAILURE (INCLUDING LOSS PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OR DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, AND DAMAGES THAT RESULT FROM INACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION OR INCONVENIENCE, DELAY, OR LOSS OF THE USE OF THE PLATFORM). THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS APPLY WHETHER THE ALLEGED LIABILITY IS BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER BASIS, EVEN IF GreenRing OR ITS AFFILIATES OR THEIR MANAGERS, MEMBERS, OR EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

We collect and process your personal information only when we have a lawful basis to do so. Lawful bases include your consent, the fulfillment of GreenRing’s contractual rights or obligations, complying with applicable law, and the legitimate interests of GreenRing or third parties (provided that processing your data for a legitimate interest does not outweigh your rights and freedoms). Examples of a legitimate interest include (i) analyzing user data to maintain and improve the Platform for all Users; (ii) providing you with access to the Platform and its services; (iii) providing you with up-to-date information about new features of the Platform; and (iv) engaging third-party providers to deliver certain features of the Platform. Accordingly, you consent and continue to consent to the processing and storage of such data.

Do Not Track Policy

In your request, please make clear what personal information you would like to have changed, whether you would like to have your personal information suppressed from our database, or other limitations you would like to put on our use of your personal information. For your protection, we only fulfill requests for the personal information associated with the particular email address that you use to send us your request, and we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable.

Please note that we often need to retain certain data for recordkeeping purposes and/or to complete any transaction that you began prior to requesting a change or deletion (e.g., when you make a purchase or enter a promotion, you may not be able to change or delete the personal information provided until after the completion of such purchase or promotion). Our databases and other records may have residual data which will not be removed. In addition, we also may not allow you to review certain data for legal, security or other reasons.

If at any time you believe that the Platform has not adhered to this privacy policy, please let us know. We will use good faith efforts to determine and correct the problem.

Your California Privacy Rights

The following section pertains to the rights of individuals or households in California (“California consumers”).

Civil Code Section 1798.83

Under certain circumstances, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 states that, upon receipt of a request by a California consumer, a business may be required to provide detailed information regarding how that business has shared that customer’s personal information with third parties for direct marking purposes. However, the foregoing does not apply to businesses like ours that do not disclose personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes without prior approval or give customers a free mechanism to opt out of having their personal information disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Rights under the CCPA

Effective January 1, 2020, the CCPA (California Civil Code Section 1798.100 et seq.) provides California consumers with additional rights regarding personal information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly with a particular consumer or household. The categories of personal information we collect are generally described above but differ for individual consumers depending on the Services used by such consumers.

Under the CCPA, qualifying California consumers may have the following rights:

Right to Know and Right to Delete

A California consumer has the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose and sell. A California consumer also has the right to submit requests to delete personal information.

When we receive a request to know or delete from a California consumer, we will confirm receipt of the request within 10 business days and provide information about how we will process the request, including our verification process. We will respond to such requests within 45 days.

Right for Disclosure of Information.

A California consumer may also submit requests that we disclose specific types or categories of personal information that we collect.

Under certain circumstances, we will not provide such information, including where the disclosure creates a substantial, articulable and unreasonable risk to the security of that personal information, customers’ account with us, or the security of our systems or networks. We also will not disclose California consumers’ social security numbers, driver’s license numbers or other government-issued identification numbers, financial account numbers, any health insurance or medical identification numbers, or account passwords and security questions and answers.

If you are a California consumer and would like to make any requests under the CCPA, please direct them as follows:

Verifying Requests

If we receive any request, we will use a two-step process for online requests where the California consumer must first, clearly submit the request and then second, separately confirm the request. We will use other appropriate measures to verify requests received by mail or telephone.

In submitting a request, a California consumer must provide sufficient information to identify the consumer, such as name, e-mail address, home or work address, or other such information that is on record with us so that we can match such information to the personal information that we maintain. Do not provide social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, account numbers, credit or debit card numbers, medical information or health information with requests. If requests are unclear or submitted through means other than outlined above, we will provide the California consumer with specific directions on how to submit the request or remedy any deficiencies. If we cannot verify the identity of the requestor, we may deny the request.
